De 2 niveaus van de markt (vlees en vis) worden aangevuld met een publiek niveau dat aansluit op de openbare ruimte van de stad. Op dit niveau wordt de mogelijkheid gelaten om andere functies toe te voegen aan de marktfunctie. Op deze manier wordt de sociale functie van de markt versterkt. Het gebouw probeert door programma en volume de omgeving nieuw leven in te blazen.

The proposal for the new market building splits the fish and meat sections positioning them under and above ground, letting a public square flow in between and act as a temporary market space. The complex is strongly characterized by the diagonals of its concrete structure in an attempt to affect and revitalize the mediocre context.
